சிவராம் கொல்லப்பட்டு ஓராண்டு நினைவு.
இலங்கையிலிருந்து எழுதிய பத்திரிகையாளன் தராகி என்ற 'மாமனிதர்' சிவராம் கொழும்பில் வைத்துக்கொல்லப்பட்டு இன்றோடு ஓராண்டு நிறைவுற்றது.
அன்னாரின் எழுத்துப்பணியைக் கெளரவிக்கி விடுதலைப்புலிகளின் தலைவர் பிரபாகரன் அவர்களால், "மாமனிதர்' விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
அவரது ஓராண்டு நினைவில் அவருக்கு அஞ்சலி செலுத்துவதோடு, அன்னாரின் குடும்பத்துக்கும் அனுதாபத்தைத் தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறோம்.
சிவராம், தினக்குரல் பத்திரிகையுடன் நடந்த ஒரு விவாதத்தில் எழுதிய வரிகள் இவை.
சொன்ன மாதிரியே தனக்கு உயிரச்சுறுத்தல் விடுக்கப்பட்டபோதும் ஒழிந்து ஓடிவிடால் தொடர்ந்து எழுதி வந்த சிவராம், அச்சுறுத்தல் விடுக்கப்பட்டது போலவே கொல்லப்பட்டார்.
அத்தோடு உரிமைகள் பெறுதல் தொடர்பான அவரது கூற்றும் எவ்வளவு உண்மையென்று இன்றும் புலப்படுகிறது.

அவரது ஓராண்டு நினைவில் அவருக்கு அஞ்சலி செலுத்துவதோடு, அன்னாரின் குடும்பத்துக்கும் அனுதாபத்தைத் தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறோம்.
சிவராம், தினக்குரல் பத்திரிகையுடன் நடந்த ஒரு விவாதத்தில் எழுதிய வரிகள் இவை.
" நாளை எம்மீது முழுமையான போராக பாயும் என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை."
அதுமட்டுமன்றி போர் நிறுத்தம் ஏற்பட்ட காலத்திலிருந்து இன்றுவரை ஐக்கிய தேசியக்கட்சியும் சரி சிறிலங்கா சுதந்திரக்கட்சியும் சரி இலங்கையின் இராணுவச் சமநிலையை
சிங்களதேசத்தின் பக்கம் சாய்ப்பதிலேயே பேரவாக் கொண்டு செயற்பட்டு வருகின்றன என்பது கண்கூடு.
நாம் இன்று அனுபவிக்கும் உரிமைகள் அனைத்துமே பேசிப் பெற்றவையல்ல, அடித்துப் பெற்றவையே என போர்நிறுத்தம் ஏற்பட்ட காலத்தில் நான் திருமலையில் பேசியதை தினக்குரல் முன்பக்கத்தில் வெளியிட்டதை நான் இங்கு நினைவுபடுத்த விரும்புகிறேன்.
கால்நூற்றாண்டுக்கு மேலாக சட்டவல்லுநர்களான எமது தமிழ் அரசியல் வாதிகள் எவ்வளவோ பேசிப்பார்த்தும் நீக்கப்படாத பயங்கரவாதத் தடைச்சட்டத்தை சிங்கள தேசம் இறுதியாக எமது படைபலத்தைக் கண்டு அஞ்சியே தற்காலிகமாக நீக்கவேனும் உடன்பட்டது என்பதை நாம் கவனிக்க வேண்டும். நான் சரியென்று உறுதியாகக் கண்டதை எழுதுகின்றேன்.
அதற்காக எந்த அழிவையும் சந்திக்க தயாராகவே இருக்கின்றேன். ஓடி விடமாட்டேன்.

சகோதரர் சிவராம் கொல்லப்பட்ட செய்தி கேட்டு நான் TamilCanadian இணையத்தளத்தில் ஓர் ஆண்டுக்கு முன் எழுதிய அஞ்சலிப் பதிவை இங்கே

I am very saddened and shocked to hear that Sivaram Annan [older brother] has been murdered by the Sinhala chauvinist State. I started to cry as soon as I learnt of this horrific news. Words fail me at such a terrible time in our freedom struggle. He was a walking encyclopaedia of the ethnic conflict in Ceylon. His death is a great loss, not only to the Thamil Nation, but also to all those from around the globe who are interested in learning about the ethnic conflict in Ceylon. Personally, his death is a tremendous loss to me. He was my source of knowledge about Ceylon’s ethnic conflict. During my recent visit to Eelam, I met Sivaram Annan and we had a lengthy discussion about many issues. As both of us were admirers of Dr.Alfred Jeyartnam Wilson, we talked about Dr.Wilson’s works. We agreed on many things and disagreed on a few things, which gave us a unique exchange of thoughts and enhanced our camaraderie. I have a habit of taking pictures with the people whom I admire. Definitely Sivaram Annan was one of them. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera with me when I went to meet Sivaram Annan. When I told him about it, he laughed and said, “Thambi, don’t worry, you can take pictures with me the next time you visit Ceylon. I’ll be here. I won’t run away anywhere. Unless I get killed, I’ll be in this country.” He knew all along that he would be killed by the Sinhala chauvinist State one day, yet he had made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country, Thamil Eelam. Words cannot express the deep felt gratitude, nor the deep felt sorrow that I have in my heart for the supreme sacrifice that has been paid by Kumar Ponnambalam, Nirmala Rajan, Nadesan, and Sivaram Annan in the war against the Sinhala oppression. “No greater love hath a man, than to give his life for another”. May their sacrifices and their families be always remembered and honoured in our hearts. LONG LIVE THAMIL EELAM!!!!!!
